There’s no better way to close out a year, than to look ahead – to the future! Join us to learn from UN Special Advisor, Radia Funna, a futurist at heart who’s thrilled to enlighten us on her perspective of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Characterized by a range of new technologies that are fusing the physical, digital and biological worlds, impacting all disciplines, economies and industries, and even challenging ideas about what it means to be human – how will it redefine the way we live, work and relate to one another? Join us to find out!

An entrepreneur, strategist, writer and advocate for futurism to solve the world’s most vexing challenges; Radia Funna is the Founder & Chief Blazer at Build n Blaze and a special advisor to the United Nations in the technology and innovation space.

For going on two decades, Radia has developed and led complex partnerships and thought leadership infrastructures with the World Economic Forum, Fortune, Financial Times, New York Stock Exchange, etc. She has also executed corporate strategy for brands including Nike, Calvin Klein and Horizon Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

In 2012, she created the concept of disruptive organizational strategy and founded Build n Blaze to operate as a tool maker and platform provider for the public and private sectors to develop strategic structures that can disrupt themselves at the pace of exponential technology and other disruptors including geo-political shifts, industrial amorphousness, etc. Further to Radia’s belief that organizations should align their social impact and bottom-lines, she established the firm’s impact program in October 2012 to help non-profit organizations increase their positive impact on the populations they serve; to date benefiting Soledad O’Brien’s PowHERful Foundation, New York Public Library, and more.

In recent years, she has seconded as Head of Innovation at the United Nations’ Office of Information and Communications Technology where, in July 2016, she launched an innovation unit into the Secretariat to facilitate the role of disruptive innovation and emerging technology to enable the UN’s most critical goals including the 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs; and served on World Economic Forum’s Responsible Capitalism Steering Board to help drive global discussions including the responsibility of the professional services sector to create opportunities that stimulate global economies by fostering talent mobility and identifying global talent risks.

Radia sits on the Lebanese American University’s Model United Nations board of the United Nations Association of the United States of America, serves as a Fellow of the World Innovation Organization and regularly speaks on entrepreneurship, the future of education, the future of work, the future of gender parity and the general role of futurism in solving the world’s most vexing challenges. Radia earned her Bachelor of Arts in English & Pre-Law at The Catholic University of America.
